:)

Exams has come to an end and nothing beats spending personal time with good friends...

Visited Fujita-san's house again and it was nice of him to cook me dinner... This is the first time someone had specially cooked me a meal! (excluding my mum) I love the theme of the condo... It adopts the theme of music... Treble cleves can be seen everywhere, little statues of kids playing the lute and flute adorning the fountain... Fujita-san's house is pretty cosy and the interior decor is exquisitely designed... I especially loved the chandelier and wallpaper!

Here are some pictures I took during his first day of arrival in the condo... I'm the first guest! *honoured*

Fujita-san cooked okinomiyaki for me... Japanese battered pancake... It was DAMN nice... He told me it was his second time cooking this... I was quite shocked... It was really good...

Getting serious...

Victory!

Was freaking full after dinner... Thanks to the Sapporo beer and Shiraz... Went on talking and talking and talking... We were complaining about this and that.. Rant and rant... Then he brought me to the studio room where he practices... I was quite puzzled when I saw a Handel Flute Sonata book... He told me he was going to play one of the songs for his coming recital... And he took up his Tuba and played... His tone is superb! The word "SICK" was swirling around my mind during his playing... He was transposing the notes and playing it at the same time... Now I know what is the true meaning of professional... He is really really really really really really good...

Told him I was going to play solo for the upcoming performance... he suddenly became very enthusiastic and said, "I WILL TEACH YOU! I WILL TEACH YOU!" Really nice of him... Haha... Looks like I'm quite blessed to have such a nice friend... He has such a tight schedule these days... He charges student like $100/hour and I get lessons for free... How's that... :D

I'm actually looking forward to this holiday... Alot of practicing needs to be done... I need to get my stamina back... I don't want to disappoint the audience and of course I don't want to disappoint myself... Work hard!

Hong Kong

This trip is going to be fun... Not just the same old duos - me and Timo... Hannah's joining us! I'm looking forward to this trip... Yummy yummy food! Here I come! *ROAR*

British boy becomes father at 13

What in the world is wrong with kids nowadays? Parents are to be blame for their child's "misbehaviour"... The boy's father is reported to have nine children... This is what happens when parents have too many kids... They don't have the time or energy to take care all of them... If you don't have such a big head, don't wear such a big hat. *direct translation from Chinese*

LONDON - A 13-year-old boy pictured in a British tabloid cradling an infant is reportedly one of the country's youngest-known fathers.

Baby-faced and only 4 feet (1.22 meters) tall, the boy, Alfie, was just 12 when he impregnated Chantelle, now 15, The Sun said. Shown in a video posted Friday to the tabloid's Web site, Alfie looks more like he's 8 _ not 13 _ as he takes the newborn girl in his arms.

Asked what he would do to support the child financially, Alfie asks in a high-pitched voice, "What does financially mean?"

The girl was reportedly taking birth control pills but missed one, the newspaper reported. Friends and relatives left the family home near Eastbourne, about 70 miles (110 kilometers) southeast of London, without speaking to reporters waiting outside Friday. The teenagers could not immediately be contacted.

The Sun did not say whether any tests were conducted to prove the boy's paternity.

Police and child services in Eastbourne, in southeast England, said in a statement that they were "aware of a 14-year-old girl that had become pregnant as the result of a relationship with a 12-year-old boy," adding that they were offering support to both young people.

Alfie's front page picture has sparked renewed debate about teen pregnancy in Britain. The country has one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in Europe, and government figures show that about 39,000 girls under age 18 became pregnant in 2006. More than 7,000 of those girls were younger than 16.

"I don't know the individual details of the case, but of course I think all of us would want to avoid teenage pregnancies," Prime Minister Gordon Brown said on Friday.

Britain had 27 births per 1,000 women aged 15-19 between 2000 and 2005, according to a report published by Population Action International. Comparable figures are 10 per 1,000 for Spain, 8 in 1,000 for France, and 5 in 1,000 for The Netherlands.

Britain's teen pregnancy rate, however, is still far below that of the United States, which registers 44 births per 1,000 women aged 15-19 and are more line with English-speaking countries such as Australia and New Zealand, which have 17 and 27 births per 1,000 women between 15 and 19, according to the report.

In a controversial move last year to tackle the high teen pregnancy rates, British education officials announced they would start introducing sex education earlier in English schools. Beginning next year, children as young as kindergarten age will be given basic sex education.

Local lawmaker Nigel Waterson called the situation "a very sad story which will have a huge impact on both the parents and the child," adding that it raised "huge questions" about the sexualization of children in British society and the effectiveness of the country's sex education.

The Sun said Chantelle gave birth Monday and that the newborn and her mother were released from the hospital Thursday.

In its profile, The Sun described Alfie as a boy whose voice has not broken yet and likes things boys usually like _ computer games and soccer.

"I thought it would be good to have a baby. I didn't really think about how we would afford it," The Sun quoted Alfie as saying. "I don't really get pocket money. My dad sometimes gives me 10 pounds (about $15)."

Alfie's father, Dennis _ who reportedly has nine children _ said his son told him it was the first time he had sex. He was reportedly allowed to sleep over at the girl's house.

"It hasn't really dawned on him," Patten, 45, was quoted as saying in The Sun.

"I will talk to him again and it will be the birds and bees talk," he said. "Some may say it's too late but he needs to understand so there is not another baby."

Britain's youngest-known father was said to be a 12-year-old boy in a suburb north of London who impregnated a young neighbor in 1998.

Boys can usually impregnate a girl when they reach puberty, which is normally between the ages of 9 and 13.

サヨナラのない恋 - 中孝介

This is quite a laggard post... I've been hearing this song for sometime already...

It's not easy for me to get absorbed into a particular song unless it's very good... This is one of the few songs that really appeal to me with just one listen... :) Love it!

Translation in English should be Goodbye Without Love.... I think... Haha...

IPP Award Interview

Was nominated for IPP award and I had to go for an interview in SBM headquarter... Was interviewed by the big shots in SBM... It was pretty scary having a panel of 4 namely the director and the deputy director of SBM asking questions that even came in PARTS of A and B... How's that? Haha... Crazy... The interview lasted approximately 45 minutes... Kinda long...

I felt okay answering the questions... Didn't really stumble on my words... My job interviews in the past really helped me... I DIDN'T DO ANY preparations for the interview... The 3 other candidates were quite prepared... They had either mock interviews with their liaison officers or were reading their reports done during the IPP period... The interview was abit different from what I had in the past... All 4 of us had to sit down together whilst getting interviewed... It was quite irritating... Some thoughts organized in my mind were answered by people before me... I had to figure out new answers and bluff my way through... Well.. Haha...

Conclusion, don't think I will get the award... One of the candidates was really good... She wasn't really trying to "sell" herself... I think she answered the questions pretty well... Who would think of answers such as "I have learnt to balance my IQ & EQ blah blah blah (*eyes rollsssssssss), I have learnt to adopt the use of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) [Call Centre Jargon] and relate it to my work." Kinda scary yet impressive eh?

My time was kinda wasted... Never really wanted an additional paper into my resume anyway... Haha... Time to mug! Must try to maintain my grades!!! GB! GOGOGO!!!

Something Useful

Happen to chance upon this article... I think its quite useful...

5 ways to boost your energy without leaving the office

I'm always going on and on about how much I hate it when people advise me to sleep when the baby sleeps or just go to bed earlier. But, rather than write yet another rant about it, I thought I'd do a little research and find five tips for boosting my energy and beating fatigue -- preferably tips that don't involve ridiculous amounts of caffeine, sugar, and/or anything illegal -- and share them here with you. Ready?

1.) Work in a work-out. It may seem counter intuitive (why expend energy when you feel like you have none to spare?) but a little bit of exercise can bring a big energy boost. You don't have to devote a big chunk of time to it, either; just 10 minutes can make a difference. Try taking baby steps: Park your car at the far end of the lot and power walk to the office door, stand up and stretch at your desk, or try any of these great work-out suggestions from Work It, Mom! members.

2.) Eat protein. Don't marathon runners eat a ton of carbohydrates for energy before a big run? Sure they do, but they're running, and I'm not so much running as... well, sitting here. If you're looking for mental energy and alertness, tuck into an egg at breakfast and munch on a protein-rich snack mid-afternoon. ("Protein-rich" doesn't necessarily mean "highly caloric" either; 10 almonds or a cup of low-fat cottage cheese will do the trick).

3.) Take a three-minute meditation break. A few minutes of meditation can help combat fatigue, according to Dr. Judith Orloff, psychiatrist and author of Positive Energy: 10 Extraordinary Prescriptions for Transforming Fatigue, Stress, and Fear. She suggests finding a quiet place and mentally focusing on an image that brings you pleasure -- your child laughing, your favorite flower, a crackling fire, whatever -- while breathing deeply (roughly 10 seconds for each inhale and exhale). Practice maintaining your focus for maximum revitalization. (For other ways to work a little meditation into your day, check out Karen Murphy's great post over at Catch Your Breath.)

4.) Try self-acupressure. According to a study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, students who were taught to self-administer certain acupressure treatments were more alert and less fatigued. University of Michigan Medical Center research investigator Dr. Richard E. Harris offers this trick: Press down on and rub the muscle between your thumb and your forefinger for three to five minutes; it's a well-known stimulation spot.

5.) See the light. A little natural light can go a long way to making you feel more alert and energized. You can't do anything about the fluorescent tubes above you at the office, but a small desk lamp with a full-spectrum bulb or one that mimics sunlight can help (especially if you can't get outside for a short walk).

Ending Hell Week Soon

I'm so glad projects and presentations are coming to an end... This past 2 weeks have been grueling... Chinese New year was burnt with me working on projects that didn't seem to come to an end... Immediately rushed back home once annual obligations were done and continued working on collaterals for IMC till 4am... haven't really had any proper sleep... Everyone's equally stress just like me... I shouldn't be complaining much anyway...

Two more projects to go and my torment will end...

Side track abit... Saw my 2 favourite PE teachers in secondary school this morning... Mr Lim and Mr Keng... They were getting the kids to run 2.4km at Admiral Garden... When Mr. Keng saw me... He was like, "Guobin! You've shed some weight!"... Then when Mr. Lim turned and saw me, he said "Guobin! Long time no see! You've changed alot! Becoming more handsome..." (must be the formal wear that attributed to the smart-ness)...

After some talk, I continued my journey to NYP... Was reminiscing about the past whereby how sick Mr. Keng was... We often classified him as the 'hell' PE teacher in our school... He was so strict and always so angry... All of us were so scare of him at that time... but as we got older, he gradually toned down... Suddenly became a very caring and nice PE teacher... Guess he was disciplining us when we were younger...

On the other hand, Mr. Lim was the hunk in our school... He was always the hot topic... Even teachers go gaga over him... I still remembered in Sec 2, Ms. Dorae, our English teacher, mentioned that he was cute right infront of the class... (no link) Soon after she said that, Mr. Lim appeared out of nowhere and walked into the class to inform us about something... Still remember how awkward the whole scene was...

I felt abit sad... Seeing them aged kinda reminds me the fact that I've left school for some time... Mr. Lim suddenly had white hairs 'blooming' out from nowhere... So did the wrinkles...

But then, this coincidence kinda made my day coz I'm able to see them again... Guess deep down, I really do miss some of the people that have once crossed my life...
